In the beginning this was practice to test some a new workflow, but as I went along I started detailing it and finishing it gradually. In the beginning this was to be a landscape only painting but I decided to practice painting characters and storytelling. I went for a more opaque finishing look, influenced by the masters Ralph McQuarrie, Keith Parkinson and Vincent Segrelles.
